Learning to Walk

After 33+ hours of travel, I arrrived in Kathmandu. Got my visa, luggage (all in tact) and met my driver - what a ride! There are no road rules you just keep moving forward and honk the horn to make sure everyone knows your are coming...cows, dogs, motorcycles, bikes cars, pedestrians, pot holes on dirt streets that are barely wider than the car - very exciting! The only thing I could think was - I'm going to have to learn to walk, I'm going to have to learn to walk...

Staying in a guest house in the Thamel area for a few days of tours, language and culture classes. Kathmandu is a sensory overload and takes some getting used to - there so much to see and learn!

Thursday I will go to live with my host family and start working in the orphanage. I can't wait!
